The Panoptikum was installed in the basement of Brunnenstrasse 34, Berlin-Mitte as part of the Kunst-Mitte Festival which took place in 1996.
During the swinging 1920s the building housed a glass-bottomed ballroom, bars and séparées. It has now been sanitised and gentrified, in keeping with the other buildings in the area.
